We have a new brief! To make a Zine, I'm really looking forward to get stuck into this one, probably due to the fact that we can base it on anything... it is a fan-zine after all. So People watching, observation, I would say I'm quite an observational person, I like to watch people I also pick up on things that other people didn't see, I listen to far too many conversations that I really shouldn't, my friends think im staring, but i don't think it's staring in till the person you are observing catches you and you still don't look away. So as research I turn to trusty google... you know just as a starting point and came across this video, well the title gives it away but it isn't disgusting as such I find it more interesting, maybe you do, maybe you don't? but you won't know unless you watch. heres a little background info for you.
Last year, photographer Robbie Cooper made waves by filming and photographing kids playing video games, catching moments of joy, exhilaration and despair. Now, he's capturing similar sentiments from men and women watching porn. The project, commissioned by Wallpaper*, 'throws up any number of questions about voyeurism and exhibitionism and makes clear the incredible nakedness of the solo sex act,' says the magazine.
Watching People Watching Porn.
So if you did get through it, what did you think? and if you didn't get through it why not? I hope it broadens the mind.
Recently I have been going through alot of old photo albums because of a brief we were given and it's very photo orientated. There are quite a few photographs of my Grand-parents and then older family members and friends. I have only put 4 pictures up but they intrigue me the most.
Nanny and Grandad
The photograph of my nanny and grandad is beautiful don't you think? they look so happy, so beautiful, It's been a while since then and they are quite a typical old couple but they still love each other and thats all that matters right?
Im not sure who these people are but this photograph was taken at my grandparents wedding so they could be family or friends but I love how they are all looking in different directions, how 'proper' they look... they remind me of some sort of Mafia.
The last two photographs are from an older photo album but I still think they are lovely, how they are worn slightly, the colours they are just beautiful. The last photograph of the two men was taken in 1922! All it says on the back is the date and 'he said i made his day' I really should be doing things like this, documenting my photographs by date order. My family members to come would be able to learn alot about myself, my family.
